Our mission is to serve as a platform for the exchange of research ideas, training, and networking for scientists of Indian origin in the US, who are working in biomedical research and the pharma industry. One of our major goals is to mentor and train the next generation of scientists, including early career faculty, post-doctoral fellows, and graduate and undergraduate students. Our members also provide laboratory facilities and guidance to young, Indian high school and college students who want to pursue research projects during the summer. Many of our members also regularly visit research laboratories and colleges in India to deliver scientific lectures, donate research equipment, and inspire up-and-coming scientists of Indian origin.

First and foremost is to increase our membership by reaching out and enrolling more members. Our current membership represents a very small fraction of the scientists of Indian origin in this country. One of the reasons for this underrepresentation is a lack of awareness. We want to beat the ASIOA drums and reach out to our friends and fellow Indian scientists to persuade them to be a member of ASIOA. I would also suggest each one of you to bring awareness of ASIOA to Indian friends within your community or institution.
